Anglo Belgian Corporation welcomed a TV crew from VRT NWS, the national public-service broadcaster for the Flemish Community of Belgium, for an interview with our CEO ir. Tim Berckmoes on the 𝐄𝐔 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧. The plan should greatly support the expansion of net-zero Clean Technology production capacity and the development of new products needed to meet Europe's ambitious climate targets.
Tim Berckmoes spoke: "The EU Green Deal Industrial Plan is a 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐚 but to be successful it is important that 𝐛𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 in grant applications are avoided and not end in the hands of expensive consultants but reach the 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 itself. Also, the EU support should cover the 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧 of clean tech products including foundries and other sectors that supply basic products for clean tech. Subsidies should be substantial and 𝐚𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 40% 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 or new developments to make a difference. Additionally, the EU 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 in this transition.
𝐀𝐁𝐂 has 𝐳𝐞𝐫𝐨-𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐛𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 under the BeHydro brand that run 100% on hydrogen. E-fuels, synthetic fuels and also methanol along with state-of-the-art combustion engines are part of the energy transition solution. Finally, 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 and not from the small states themselves. And we must ensure that manufacturers from small countries like Belgium have 𝐬𝐮𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐢𝐠 𝐄𝐔-𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 in e.g. Germany and France."
