ABC Methanol Dual Fuel Engines to Power Agalas and Eidesvik Offshore’s New Green Construction Support Vessel

Anglo Belgian Corporation (ABC) is pleased to announce that it has been selected by Norwegian companies Agalas and Eidesvik Offshore to provide methanol dual fuel engines for a new, cutting-edge Construction Support Vessel (CSV). The vessel is to be built at Sefine Shipyard in Turkey and is scheduled for delivery in early 2026.
Revolutionary Construction Support Vessel
Designed by NSK Ship Design in Harstad, Northern Norway, the new vessel will be a 99.9-meter-long Construction Support Vessel (CSV), boasting a width of 21 meters and incorporating advanced design features, comfort, and functionality. Notable features include a 150-ton wave-compensating crane and 900 square meters of deck space.
In a groundbreaking move, the vessel will be equipped with both a hybrid battery system and dual-fuel engines, making it the first of its kind in the world. These engines can operate on methanol and (bio)diesel/HVO, offering emission reductions of up to 70 percent compared to similar vessels.

Eidesvik Offshore and Agalas are constructing a state-of-the-art Construction Support Vessel (CSV) for subsea and offshore wind markets. The companies have also secured options for an additional four vessels.
