Lorraine Hooks: Mike Hooks' New Cutter Suction Dredger Embarks on a Sustainable Journey

The christening of the Lorraine Hooks, the new 27” Cutter Suction Dredger (CSD) of dredging company Mike Hooks, took place last week at Mike Hooks headquarters in Westlake, Louisiana.
This new non-self-propelled CSD is equipped with two powerful 6DL36 generator sets incl. SCR system, each delivering 3,000 kWe of power. They also meet and exceed EPA's highest emission requirements. The new CSD will serve multiple purposes, including dredging rivers and waterways.
Mike Hooks, based in Louisiana and active across the Gulf region, has built a very solid reputation over the past 80 years for maintenance dredging, port expansion, beach reclamation, wetland restoration and disaster recovery services. Now, with the addition of Lorraine Hooks to their fleet, Mike Hooks continues to demonstrate unwavering commitment to the sustainable development of their operations.
