BeHydro receives Energy Globe Awards
01 Feb 2022
Last week BeHydro received two prestigious Energy Globe 2021 Awards from Mrs. Elisabeth Kornfeind, Austrian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, and Mr. Michael Spalek, Commercial Counsellor of Advantage Austria. The Energy Globe World Award honors the best projects addressing environmental issues since 20 years.
At the end of last year, with the BEH2YDRO dual fuel engine project, Energy Globe Foundation selected BEH2YDRO as winner of the Energy Globe Award in the category Air. In this category, the Energy Globe Foundation is looking for projects that improve air quality and avoid CO2 emissions. It includes projects involving optimization of combustion processes, reduction of greenhouse gases and emissions, indoor air quality, etc.
In addition, BEH2YDRO was selected as Energy Globe national winner for Belgium.
BEH2YDRO engines are commercially available in a dual fuel version (85 % H2 gas & 15 % liquid fuel). The first 1 MW dual fuel hydrogen engine has been in operation since 2020. This engine works with a mixture of 85 % hydrogen and 15 % liquid fuel. This means a CO2 reduction of 85 %! The BEH2YDRO dual fuel hydrogen engine is available with 6, 8, 12 or 16 cylinders and has a power output from 1.000 kW up to 2.670 kW.
