Antwerp Maritime Academy inaugurates ABC generator set
08 Mar 2023
An ABC 6-cylinder generator set was inaugurated today at the Antwerp Maritime Academy. This new generator set, donated by Anglo Belgian Corporation, allows the students of the Marine Academy to gain real life practical experience.
The Antwerp Maritime Academy, formerly the Hogere Zeevaartschool (HZS), has a new eye-catcher: an ABC 6-cylinder generator set with an output of up to 1,275 kWe.
Tim Berckmoes, CEO Anglo Belgian Corporation, said: "We were impressed by the level of training and the passion of the teachers. With this new genset, the students can learn numerous practical matters and get to know the ABC engines better. Furthermore, the Antwerp Maritime Academy can bring new insights and future-proof training towards automation and simulation. Due to our presence in navy applications on MCMV and possibly frigates, this training is also very suitable for the Belgian Navy."
We wish the teachers and students of the Antwerp Maritime Academy all the best with the commissioning of this new generator set!
