ABC explains vision during webinar on alternative fuels

Today, the FPS Mobility and Transport on the initiative of the Belgian Deputy Prime Minister of the North Sea, Vincent Van Quickenborne, organised the webinar "Alternative fuels: Powering ships towards a sustainable future".
During several presentations, various pilot projects, the required regulatory framework and the way forward for an extended use of alternative fuels were outlined. Attention was also paid to various technological and logistical challenges.
Tim Berckmoes, CEO of Anglo Belgian Corporation (ABC), explained ABC's vision on design and conversion of marine engines to run on hydrogen or methanol. He also highlighted some key challenges and made suggestions so that differences in certification standards, diversity of regulations and lack of stability in the legislative framework do not act as barriers to innovation.
