Nor-Shipping marks the Norwegian debut of ABC’s future-proof, fuel-flexible Evolve 6E23 engine

Nor-Shipping provides a valuable arena where designers, owners, technologists, and financiers come together to explore next-generation solutions and build new partnerships. The 2025 edition continues to highlight innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

ABC’s engine portfolio includes the DZ Engine Platform (256 mm bore), the D36 Engine Platform (365 mm bore), and the E23 Engine Platform (230 mm bore).
With a focus on fuel flexibility and long-term reliability, ABC offers medium-speed engines running on (bio)diesel and HVO, with power outputs ranging from 600 kW to 10.5 MW per engine.
In addition, our engine experts will be available to discuss ABC’s dual fuel methanol engines (ranging from 955 to 3,536 kW), as well as our BeHydro range, which includes both dual fuel hydrogen engines and 100% hydrogen combustion engines (from 900 to 2,670 kW).

Building on ABC’s track record in robust, low- and zero-emission propulsion, the six-cylinder inline Evolve 6E23 is designed for exceptional efficiency, simplified maintenance, and readiness for low- and zero-carbon fuels. Its compact build provides the power density required by modern offshore, ferry, and specialised vessels, while maintaining low lifecycle costs.

• Future-ready combustion. The modular cylinder head allows straightforward conversion between liquid, dual, and gaseous fuels. Designed to accommodate a variety of fuels and firing systems, the engine eliminates the need for early fuel commitment, ensuring long-term flexibility and security for your operations.
• Operational simplicity. Engineered for durability in harsh conditions, the Evolve inline engines undergo extensive factory testing to ensure long service life and minimal component wear. Shared components across the range simplify maintenance and parts management, while pre-assembled power units allow rapid swaps during servicing.
• Clean performance. The Evolve E23 engines meet IMO Tier III and EU Stage V standards through optimised combustion and a dedicated Exhaust After-treatment System (EATS). This reduces NOx and particulate emissions, supporting your sustainability goals without compromising efficiency.
