Frydenbø Industri AS is proud to announce that Cetus AS, based in Vea (Norway), has chosen Anglo Belgian Corporation (ABC) as engine supplier for their newest combined purse seiner/trawler named “Vikingbank”.

The 65 m fishing vessel, designed by Norwegian naval architect Salt Ship Design, will be built at Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted AS and is set to be commissioned in Q3 of 2020.

ABC’s 6DL36 medium-speed engine, with a bore x stroke of 365 mm x 420 mm, will produce 3797 kW @ 720 rpm. The low brake mean effective pressure (BMEP) of only 24 bar ensures a higher reliability and lifetime of the engine. The DL36 is compliant with IMO Tier III emission standards.

Jean-Pierre Props, Area Sales Manager at Anglo Belgian Corporation, said: “ABC has a long history of providing efficient and reliable solutions for the fishing industry. Our 6DL36 engine is built with continuous operation, low fuel and lube oil consumption and long maintenance intervals in mind. It is a perfect fit for this highly demanding, heavy-duty market in terms of reliability, durability and low life-cycle cost”.

Frydenbø Industri AS and ABC are proud to be a part of this project and look forward to a constructive cooperation.
