Aftertreatment systems
Anglo Belgian Corporation is constantly working on optimizing its standard engines.
ABC's 6/8DL36 and 12/16DV36 engines are available both in common rail or full mechanical PLN (Pump-Line-Nozzle) versions. To comply with the most stringent emission standards, ABC also offers the possibility to opt for EGR or an aftertreatment system such as SCR or oxidation catalyst.
ABC's 6/8DZC and 12/16(V)DZC engines can be fitted with an ABC aftertreatment system, which means that these engines also meet the most stringent emission standards.

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR)
An SCR or NOx catalyst is used to reduce the nitrogen oxides (NOx) in the exhaust fumes of an engine to achieve the required emission standards (IMO Tier III, EU Stage V, EPA Tier IV, ...)
An SCR system consists of a mixing tube where urea, with air support, is mixed with the exhaust gases. The effective catalyst comes after the mixing tube. This can be installed directly after the mixing tube or further down the exhaust system. The catalyst is an open system with an active surface. The extra back pressure of this system is therefore limited.
When choosing an ABC aftertreatment system, you get 100% European quality. ABC's SCR solutions are manufactured and assembled according to European standards, guaranteeing reliability, service and short delivery times. Lack of space is a very common challenge. An important advantage of ABC's SCR solutions lies in the fact that it is a very flexible and modular system.
For marine applications, ABC SCR solutions are delivered with type approval certifying that the SCR aftertreatment system, in combination with an ABC engine, fully complies with the IMO Tier III regulations.
In addition, ABC's SCR package can be extended with a soot filter (DPF).

Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF)
A DPF or diesel particulate filter is used to limit the particulate emissions of the engine. It is a closed filter, which means that the exhaust gases flow through a porous filter. As a result, the particles (mainly soot) are filtered out of the exhaust gases. When the filter becomes full, the temperature rises and the soot oxidizes so that the filter is cleaned again. If necessary, the temperature rise can be actively activated by means of a burner.
When choosing an ABC aftertreatment system, you get 100% European quality. ABC's DPF solutions are manufactured and assembled according to European standards, guaranteeing reliability, service and short delivery times.
Lack of space is a common challenge in aftertreatment systems, especially if a DPF is required. An important advantage of ABC's DPF solutions lies in the fact that it is a very flexible and modular system that can be combined, if necessary, with integrated SCR and/or silencer.
The determination of DPF type, layout and size is specifically determined per project to find the best possible solution in terms of space, lifespan and total cost. No standard solution, but perfectly adjusted to your application.
